Where it fits
Core Router and the full platform add queues, a study cache, transcoding, de-identification, tag-morphing, HL7 / MWL, and their own analytics. When you need those, you want that weight — the store-and-forward pipeline is what makes them possible.
But every one of those features means a queue to drain, a disk to manage, and a larger footprint to install and run.
Essential Router streams. It receives, matches priority rules, and fans out to destinations in a single pass — no store-and-forward, no disk buffering. That is the whole design, and it buys you the lowest latency and the smallest footprint in the family.
By design it has no queues, study cache, transcoding, de-identification, tag-morphing, HL7 / MWL, or analytics of its own — those live in Core Router and the full platform. It is deliberately the lean, fast tier: perfect to embed as an OEM layer or to front a department that just needs fast C-STORE routing.

Availability
Essential Router ships today as a Windows MSI and a Linux self-installing tarball with a systemd unit — the same product, installed the same way on both. Its web console runs on HTTP port 5128.
It is general-purpose, non-device software (FD&C Act §520(o)(1)(D)) with no clinical function. Whether you are embedding a routing layer in your own offering or fronting a department that needs pure, low-latency C-STORE routing, we can walk you through a deployment.
